ABOUT US

We are a Lighthouse congregation.  Lighthouse Congregations are a part of the UM Collective Movement in the Western NC Conference. These congregations are particularly equipped to welcome anyone whose church has closed or disaffiliated. If you find yourself in these circumstances, we first want you to know that we see you. We love you. And we will help guide you. A Lighthouse Congregation is a United Methodist faith community that will serve as a resting place with people who will care for you while providing a haven of peace and grace. Whether you are an individual or a group of people who have become displaced or churchless because of closing or disaffiliation, Lighthouse Congregations will be there for you during this difficult time.  Lighthouse Congregations (wnccumc.org)

OUR BELIEFS
WHAT WE DO
OUR COMMUNITY

The United Methodist Church shares a great deal with other denominations. Explore what we believe about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the Bible, and more.

We also have a unique heritage and areas of emphasis. Learn what we mean when we talk about grace, how we serve people around the world, and ways we grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. Learn more at www.umc.org

United Methodists are disciples of Jesus Christ who continue to heed the lessons John Wesley taught his followers: to live lovingly and justly as servants of Christ by healing the sick, feeding the hungry, caring for the stranger, freeing the oppressed; being a compassionate presence, and working to develop social structures that are consistent with the gospel.

We're located in southeast Greensboro, along with our sister church, Moriah UM Church.  Together, we're reaching out, informing, helping and  sharing the Gospel. Holmes Grove has addressed such issues as food insecurity, elderly care, homelessness, and sex trafficking.  Our community also includes our brothers and sisters around the world.
