Pastor's Letter

Happy Spring Holmes,                                                                                                                                                    April 1, 2025

Thank you for the birthday celebration for my wife and me. We appreciate all the cards, gifts, prayers, and presence. We are halfway through this journey in the wilderness in this season called Lent. I hope and pray that we are prioritizing wellness and self-care. Let us continue to participate in the spiritual disciplines of prayer, reading and studying the Scriptures, and doing works of mercy, such as feeding the hungry and providing clothing and sources for seeking shelter. We show His love by extending God’s grace to those in need.

There are many ways to worship during this season of Lent. Please participate in the Thursday weekly Greensboro Lent Celebrations at various locations across the Piedmont Triad. I will preach during Holy Week, Revival at Camp Springs UMC (Reidsville) on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 7:00 pm, and The Seven Last Words of Christ at Memorial UMC (High Point) on Good Friday, April 18, 2025, at 6:30 pm. Let us all be present on Resurrection Sunday, April 20, 2025, to celebrate our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Please continue praying for our church and invite the community to attend our worship services, Chair Yoga and new Chair Volleyball Tuesdays, weekly Wednesday night Bible Study via Zoom, and 4th Sunday Children’s Church. Let’s continue our mission: To Make Disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World, and our Vision: “To be an Intergenerational Church that loves serving the Lord together.” As a Lighthouse Church, we provide a safe space, offering hope and peace for those United Methodists looking for a new church home. Let’s continue to thrive in 2025.

Be Blessed,

Rev. Dr. John P. Henry, Jr.
