Rev. Dr. John Henry, Jr.
Pastor's Letter
Hello, June 1, 2025 Thank you to all who came to Camp Springs UMC (Reidsville) on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, where I preached, “Lead Me Guide Me” using 2 Kings 2:1-2; 6-14 (NRSV), passing the mantle of Elijah to Elisha. We should all be thinking about who we will pass the mantle to and should begin mentoring the younger generation.
Planning has begun for our Summer and Fall Programs. The Annual Conference 2025 of the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church in Lake Junaluska is from June 19-22, 2025, and Vacation Bible School will take place on June 23-25, 2025. Summer Camps will also be underway. In addition, we will celebrate our graduates on Sunday, June 29, 2025, during our morning worship service. I will preach one night at the revival of Collins Grove UMC (Greensboro) on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.
We will hold our Annual Revival 2025 in August, with the Kickoff on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at 9:15 a.m. and nightly services from Monday through Wednesday, August 4-6, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. We have also begun planning for our 151st Church Anniversary. Please continue praying for our church and invite the community to attend our worship services, Chair Yoga/Chair Volleyball/Bingo Tuesdays, weekly Wednesday night Bible Study via Zoom, and 4th Sunday Children’s Church. As we close out another conference year, let’s continue our mission as a United Methodist Church: To Make Disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World, with the new vision to Love Boldly, Serve Joyfully, and Lead Courageously, and our church’s Vision: “To be an Intergenerational Church that loves serving the Lord together.” As a Lighthouse Church, we provide a safe space, offering hope and peace to all who seek a new church home. Let’s continue to thrive in 2025.
Be Blessed, Rev. Dr. John P. Henry, Jr.
