ABOUT OUR CHURCH
We are a family-oriented United Methodist Church in the heart of southeast Greensboro. We have been loving and serving our community for 149 years! Our mission is to transform the community and world through service to Jesus Christ as told in the Holy Scriptures. We welcome all people, no matter who they are, into our community of worship and self-sacrifice!
MINISTRIES
We believe in serving and showing God's love. Our ministries come under Nurture, Outreach and Worship. They include events and programs for our children, college students and elderly. We have a community garden; visit the sick and shut-In; conduct food drives for Backpack Beginnings, Inc., which provides food for children and families; feed the homeless and more. Also, our United Methodist Men and United Women in Faith provide food and assist with other needs for our brothers and sisters in our community and around the world.
BELIEF
United Methodists share a common heritage with all Christians. According to our foundational statement of beliefs in The Book of Discipline, we share the following basic affirmations in common with all Christian communities:
Trinity
We describe God in three persons. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are commonly used to refer to the threefold nature of God. Sometimes we use other terms, such as Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer.
